The Kerala Tourism stand at ongoing Arabian Travel Market (ATM) in Dubai has flora and fauna of the state, its backwaters, monsoon downpour, and the Ayurveda as its theme. T P Seetharam, Ambassador of India to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), inaugurated the 310 square metres India Pavilion at the fair. Seetharam visited the Kerala stand at the India Pavilion and interacted with the trade partners. The ATM is also serving as a venue for promotion of the ‘Visit Kerala’ campaign in the Middle East, based on monsoon, Ayurveda and greenery.
A delegation led by Kerala Tourism Director P I Sheik Pareeth and Ali Asgar Pasha, Managing Director, Kerala Tourism Development Corporation (KTDC), represented the state in four-day fair. The inaugural function saw a Kathakali performance by two artists from Kerala. “Considering tourist arrivals to Kerala from the Middle East, Saudi Arabia is the main market followed by the UAE, Oman and Kuwait,” said A P Anilkumar, Minister for Tourism, Kerala.
