Bengal’s Kazi Nazrul Islam Airport receives final regulatory approval

Bengal airport latest newsNEW DELHI: Bengal Aerotropolis Projects Ltd (BAPL) has said that it has received the final regulatory approval for its airport in Durgapur from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA).

The DGCA has issued ‘Aerodrome License’ to its Kazi Nazrul Islam Airport (KNI Airport) in Durgapur-Andal region in West Bengal on April 24, 2015, it said in a release this morning.

“Having obtained this final approval from the authority of Indian civil aviation, the airport will now become India’s first operational private Greenfield airport under the country’s Greenfield Airport Policy,” the release said.
